This is the only part of Going to the Sun Road that is open. The rest is closed due to avalanche.

These are the tour buses that take visitors over Going to the Sun Road -- when it's open.

These two little cubs were playing in the road. We knew Mama Bear couldn't be far away . . .

The wildflowers are beautiful in the spring.

The main road cutting across Glacier, Going to the Sun Road, is still closed because of an avalanche last month. They have cleared the roads in the lower part of the road as shown here, but Logan's Pass won't be open for a few more weeks because of debris, snow and some damage to the roadway.

So So we decided to check out the Canadian part of the mountains - Waterton National Park. The Blackfoot Indian Reservation is adjacent to the parks.

The "locals" were just hanging out in the yards and strolling down Main Street.

I don't think Cameron Lake ever thaws!!! (That's a lake under all that ice.)

This is a wolverine (I had to check with locals to determine if it was a wolverine or badger). He was sitting in the road and looked right up at us, but Denise was a little slow with the camera, so we share his rear end with you.

Back to go ol' USA.

Left Yellowstone (Wyoming) and headed toward Glacier National Park in Wyoming. The Wyoming wheat fields were just being planted. Approaching Glacier , the mountain views were spectacular.

We checked into the Club at Glacier/St. Mary Lodge which is right at the east entrance to Glacier National Park. We stayed in the large (wooden) building, but they also had ti-pis that you could stay in. Check out the views from our balcony.
