We're in Indio, California (near Palm Springs) this week, and it is a HOT desert. They are known for their date growing, so we toured a couple of date gardens. And of course, had to learn about the sex life of dates at Sheilds Date Gardens.

We then took a drive to Salton Sea, the largest lake in California with a higher salintiy level than the Pacific Ocean and well below, at about 200+ feet below sea level.
